Ken began his hair journey in 2009, building a strong foundation in both barbering and hairdressing. His experience with men’s and women’s hair allows him to combine technical precision with an intuitive sense of style.

Influenced by Asian and Western aesthetics, Ken views hair as a balance of form, function, and self expression. Travel inspires him, providing insight into lifestyle, fashion, and hair culture across the world.

After moving to Melbourne, Ken pursued advanced training to refine his skills and understand local style preferences. Today, he offers a full range of services from cuts and colors to perms and treatments ensuring a personalized experience for every client.

At KÈMI Studio, Ken aims to create a calm, thoughtful environment built on quality, care, and trust. Beyond serving clients, he is committed to giving hairstylists who, like him, moved from overseas a platform, guidance, and community to grow and thrive in a new country. He believes beauty begins with empathy, helping everyone clients and team members alike leave feeling confident, understood, and refreshed.

Having spent half of her life in the industry, YZ’s commitment to excellence is no accident. Her career in high end salons was a conscious choice to surround herself with the best products, the finest techniques, and a culture that values quality.

Alongside hairstyling, she has studied colour theory and hair extensions to offer more complete and visually refined transformations.

I have spent over eight years in the hair industry, developing a thoughtful and refined approach to hair design. My work focuses on custom layered cuts, soft face framing, ash-toned colours, and personalised hair extensions, always tailored to complement each client’s face shape, lifestyle, and individuality.
Rather than chasing trends, I believe the most beautiful styles are those that feel natural, effortless, and quietly confident.

Outside the salon, I find inspiration in everyday moments. I love wandering through Melbourne in search of the perfect coffee, capturing small but meaningful scenes through photography, and reconnecting with nature, especially observing birds like cockatoos. Their elegance, freedom, and subtle details often influence the way I see beauty.
This sense of curiosity and attention to detail flows naturally into my work behind the chair.

For me, hair design begins with understanding. My goal is to create hair that truly feels like you, hair that fits seamlessly into your life and leaves a lasting impression long after you leave the salon.

I am originally from Japan and worked as a hairstylist for seven years in the Harajuku area of Tokyo. I specialise in women’s straightening treatments and men’s perm styles.

I believe hairdressing is a special profession that allows us to support clients through different stages of their lives. By understanding each client beyond their hair concerns, I can offer more personalised results, which is why communication is very important to me.

Outside of work, I love travelling and finding inspiration through different cultures and perspectives. I am committed to continuous learning and providing high quality service to every client.

Outside of hair, I find inspiration in plants. Even from the same origin, they grow differently over time.
